Hello World — Writing Blogs in Markdown

We just moved our blog off the API and into the repository itself. Every post now lives as a markdown file under src/routes/blog/-content, grouped by publish date.

How it works

Each post is a single markdown file:

src/routes/blog/-content/
└── 2026-07-12/
    └── hello-world.md
  • The directory name is the publish date (YYYY-MM-DD).
  • The file name is the post's slug, so this post is served at /blog/hello-world.
  • The frontmatter carries the metadata: title, description, cover, tags, and language.

Why we did this

Publishing through the admin API meant logging in, filling a form, and waiting on a deploy of backend data. Now the workflow is just:

  1. Create a dated folder and drop in a markdown file.
  2. Commit and push.
  3. The post is live with the next deployment — reviewed, versioned, and diffable like any other code.

That's it. Happy writing!
